An official ceremony will be held at Dubai Expo on Dec. 11 to celebrate Japan’s National Day. The ceremony will be attended by representatives from Japan, and the UAE, and cultural performances and speeches will also be shared with visitors.
Japanese culture will be laid out for guests to experience and observe with a line-up of traditional programs and activities.
“Ikebana,” the art of Japanese flower arrangement, and “Go” an abstract strategy traditional board game hosted by The Nihon Ki-in are some of the activities that will be offered on the day.
Those visiting will be welcomed by a Japanese taiko drumming group called SHOTEN, and can also experience a Japanese musical performance by students from the Japanese School in Dubai at the Sun Plaza.
Aside from musical entertainment, they can also engage with other forms of Japanese art like martial arts at the Earth Plaza, or even “Sumi-e and Calligraphy” at the Sea Plaza.
Japan Day at Expo Dubai serves as a preview for the cultural richness that will be experienced when Osaka holds the next Expo in 2025.
