TOKYO: Several hundred activists who support the QAnon movement took to the streets of Tokyo’s Harajuku district, carrying signs that demanded an end to the measures taken by the government against Covid-19.

Some demonstrators hailed former American president Donald Trump. One of them claimed to Arab News Japan that “a fake Donald Trump declared being vaccinated.” Other activists echoed their concern that Japan is becoming a state with a permanent state of emergency which would threaten public freedom.

Participants were all unmasked, a sight rarely seen in Japan where almost all citizens use masks, especially when the infection rate has been increasing at an alarming rate in the last few days.

The protestors repeated slogans like “Protect the children,” “Protect Japan,” and “Vaccines are dangerous.” Other banners called on people to remove their masks immediately.
