TOKYO: A mild after midnight earthquake registering maximum seismic intensity of 3 struck Ibaraki Prefecture north east of Tokyo at 00:38 on Jan. 31.
The Japan Metrological Agency said there was no concern about a tsunami caused by this earthquake.
The epicenter was in northern Ibaraki at the magnitude of 3.7 at the depth of approximately 10km underground, according to the agency.
The shaking of seismic intensity 3 is felt by most people in buildings, and by some people walking.
Further, many people are awakened by it.
