TOKYO: The Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture on Japan’s northern sea coast was hit by an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 3 around 6 pm on Monday.
The quake was focused on Shoinmachi, Suzu City, Misaki Town and Matsunami, Noto Town, on the area of land that stretches into the Japan Sea on Honshu’s northern coast.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter was at a depth of about 10 km and the quake had a magnitude estimated to be 4.1.
This is the eighth earthquake with Oku Noto as the epicenter since February 4.
