DUBAI: Ruler of the UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi received Consul General of Japan in Dubai SEKIGUCHI Noboru on Wednesday, according to the Emirates News Agency.

In the ruler’s palace in Saqr bin Mohammed City, Sekiguchi and Sheikh Al Qasimi discussed ways in which the two countries can strengthen their relations in various fields.

The UAE and Japan have been cooperating in different industries such as crude oil, space exploration and strong trade agreements.

Most recently, the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah hosted the first edition of “Japan Film Week,” in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in Dubai. Three Japanese movies were shown across one week.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
