
TOKYO: Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio said Tuesday he will visit New York next week to attend a UN General Assembly meeting.
He disclosed the plan at an executive meeting of his ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
Kishida will be the first Japanese prime minister in three years to attend a U.N. General Assembly meeting in-person. At the General Assembly, speeches by leaders around the world will start on Sept. 20.
He plans to deliver speeches at the General Assembly and the New York Stock Exchange.
