DUBAI: Japan’s Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa met with his Kuwaiti counterpart Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohamed Al Sabah in Japan on Sept. 27.
The Kuwaiti minister offered his condolences on the passing of the former Japanese Prime Minister ABE Shinzo and in return Hayashi expressed his appreciation of the presence of Al Sabah at the state funeral.
The ministers agreed that relations between Japan and Kuwait have been historically maintained through the support and cooperation between both countries during the Gulf War and the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Hayashi also portrayed his gratitude for Kuwait’s stable supply of crude oil to Japan during this difficult time for the international oil market because of the Russian aggression toward Ukraine.
The Kuwaiti minister affirmed the continuation of the stable oil supply to Japan and congratulated Japan’s election to being a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Both ministers agreed to maintain and enhance the strong historical partnership between Japan and Kuwait.
