TOKYO: Japan and Israel have decided to launch a Joint Study Group on the possibility of a Japan-Israel Economic Partnership, Japan’s Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The Ministry noted that this year “marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Israel, and the economic relations between the two countries have been growing significantly in recent years.”
Based on that, both sides jointly decided to launch the Joint Study Group on the possibility of a Japan-Israel Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
Details of the plans were not announced, but coordination is underway to hold the first meeting of the Joint Study Group, the ministry Said.
