TOKYO: The Japanese government called on its citizens residing in Turkiye and the neighboring countries to exercise caution and be vigilant in the wake of the deadly earthquake that struck the region on Monday.
Cabinet Affairs Minister MATSUNO Hirokazu said at a press conference, “So far, we have no report of any death or injury among Japanese nationals in the region. We have advised the Japanese in Turkiye to take extreme care against possible new earthquakes and aftershocks.”

“We are still in the process of confirming the details of the damage. Once confirmed, we will provide the necessary assistance,” Matsuno said without elaborating.
