TOKYO: The Japanese government on Wednesday expressed its serious concern about Israel’s authorization of nine settlement outposts and the plan to approve new settlement construction.
“Settlement activities violate international law and undermine the viability of a two-state solution. Japan strongly urges the Government of Israel not to implement the measures and to freeze its settlement activities totally,” the foreign ministry said in an official statement.
The ministry said, “in light of the continued clashes and violence between Israel and Palestine, resulting in several casualties, Japan again calls for refraining from actions that exacerbate tensions.”
