DUBAI: Candle prayer night will be held in Osaka as a sign of support for Ukraine for its struggle with the Russian invasion; it will start on Feb 24th at Naniwanomiya-ato.
This date, February 24th marks one year since the termination of numerous bilateral relations as well as economic ties, and a full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Japan presented itself as a strong opposer to the war in Ukraine and was seen to provide both monetary and non-monetary assistance; in the form of emergency grant aids, to help rebuild the country as well as food aids.
Kishida was also invited to attend a NATO summit to discuss the Ukraine crisis; Japan also agreed with NATO to set up military cooperation and joint exercises as they both shared concerns that this invasion not only has a great negative impact on Ukraine, but also on the security environment in Europe and Asia.
An initiative was brought up by the embassy of Ukraine in Japan to hold a candle night to pray for peace in Ukraine.
This will take place on Feb 24th until Feb 26th at Naniwanomiya-ato, south side of Osaka museum of history from 5PM to 7PM.
This war has brought great loss of life, dispersed millions of people, and had an immense economic impact on the world.
