The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) announced the signing of a number of MoUs with various Japanese archaeological institutes to further expand the Japanese excavation mission in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In a joint meeting at The Bahrain National Museum, BACA President, His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, stressed the importance of bilateral cultural cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of archaeology.

The president affirmed that these agreements will build on more than the 30 years of cooperation between the two nations in the field of archaeology.

The agreements were signed with the Tokyo National Institute for the Study of Cultural Property, the Kashihara Archaeological Institute, and Kanazawa University.
