DUBAI: US Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel met Ukrainian evacuees in Japan on Thursday in Tokyo.

Emanuel gave a statement, saying:  “Today, Amy and I had the honor of accompanying our good friend, Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Sergiy Korsunsky, to meet with Ukrainian evacuees who recently arrived in Japan.  It is incumbent on all of us to support the brave Ukrainians who fled the brutality of Putin the Pariah. They must know they have friends here in Japan and in America.  From offering our residence, to providing food and assistance with local travel, our intention is to make every evacuee feel at home here in Japan while they are away from home.  I would like to thank Prime Minister Kishida and the people of Japan for stepping up to welcome and care for the Ukrainian people.”
