TOKYO: Japan on Friday said it would dispatch its third Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Medical Team to Turkiye to help it recover from damage caused by two large earthquakes.
The team will depart for Turkey on March 4 and replace the second JDR Medical Team currently operating in Gaziantep to continue providing medical assistance.
Japan says it will continue to provide as much assistance as possible to help Turkiye recover from the devastating earthquakes.
The JDR Medical Team will consist of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and coordinators.
Japan has already dispatched emergency relief goods such as tents, blankets and sleeping pads, as well as announcing Emergency Grant Aid of $8.5 million.
