TOKYO:  Several hundred Iranians gathered in front of the official residence of Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio this Saturday, April 22 pleading for him to take a stand against what they called  “the chemical attacks on schoolgirls in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

In their statement, they urged the Prime Minister to speak out against the use of chemical weapons in violation of international conventions (CWC)

The Iranian group said that the European Union had condemned the chemical attacks committed on March 16 by bringing a resolution to the United Nations for an investigation into the origin of the chemical attacks. They criticized the prime minister’s silence and asked when he would speak out against what they called “crimes against humanity committed in Iran.”

Protestors, some wearing gas masks, also criticized Kishida for only speaking out on the arrests of nationals during a G7 meeting in Nagoya.

According to the organizers of the protest group, nearly 20,000 Iranian men and women under the age of 18 have been subjected to arbitrary detention and torture for six months.  Photos showing dead youth allegedly shot by the regime’s police or sentenced to death were on display in the protest.
