Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced the transfer of the UAE Regional Mars ‘hope probe’ to the launch site in Japan.
In a series of tweets, the UAE leader tweeted, along with a video and pictures, that despite air restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the UAE has managed to complete the operation in 83 hours.

He said “We proudly announce the successful transfer of the first Regional Mars probe from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center in Dubai to the launch site on Tanegashima island in Japan, in an 83-hour operation under the supervision of a team of Emirati engineers.”

The probe is set to launch in July from Tanegashima Island in Japan.
The Dubai ruler added that the project was “a turning point for the Arab and Islamic world,” specifically in the space sector.

The ‘Hope Probe’ will be the first probe to give a full view of Mars and its atmosphere when it reaches the red planet in 2021.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center overlooked the execution of all stage of design, development and launch of the ‘Hope Probe.’ The project is funded by the UAE Space Agency.
