China’s Ambassador to Israel, Du Wei, has died in his apartment in Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media.

Du, who was 58 years old, was found dead in his bed. The cause of death has yet to be reported.

He was appointed ambassador in February, and previously served as China’s envoy to Ukraine.

Du is survived by his wife and son, but his family are not believed to be in Tel Aviv.
