LONDON: Iraq will not accept attacks on the country’s security services, prime minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi said on Sunday.

Speaking about the security situation in the country, he said that although it is necessary to “protect and preserve” the dignity of citizens, he would not allow militants to target the police or military as they try to protect the country.

Al-Kadhimi added that although Iraq is facing great economic challenges which are reflected in the security situation, the government has several plans to overcome the crises and challenges it faces. 
The prime minister made the comments after a visit to Iraq’s National Security Agency during which he praised its efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the security of the country.
