DUBAI: Oman has inoculated up to 7,600 people with COVID-19 vaccines, and has not received any report of side effects from those who received them, health secretary Ahmed Mohammed said.

There was a large turnout of citizens and residents wishing to get the vaccine on the eighth day of the immunization campaign that kicked off last Sunday, state news agency ONA reported, quoting the health chief.

Oman an established immunization record and that the Sultanate topped a total of 127 countries in the management of immunizations, Al-Sa’eedi added.

No coronavirus vaccine was introduced in the Sultanate before consulting specialized studies and clinical experiences, to ensure they were safe and secure.

Vaccines given in Oman are registered in their countries of origin, the health official added.

Total COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate currently stands at 129,404, of which 122,266 patients have recovered.
