Dubai Ruler receives credentials of new Japan Ambassador to the UAE

DUBAI: UAE’s Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received the credentials of new Japanese Ambassador to the UAE AKIO Isomata on Wednesday.

Al Maktoum also received the credentials of other new ambassadors in the country.

Akio previously served in Asia, Europe, North America on the Japanese diplomatic service. This is the first time the ambassador serves in the MENA region.

According to the Embassy of Japan in the UAE, Akio said he believes the cooperation between the two countries has recently been evolving into a variety of areas based on longstanding cooperation in the field of oil exploration, production and trade, such as: infrastructure; renewable energy; outer space; defense industries; agriculture and food; medical and health care; retail business; tourism; contents and creative industries; sports and much more.

He also said it is important that Japan and the UAE continued to cooperate in the fields of education and human resources development.

The Japanese Ambassador most recently appeared at Dubai Expo 2020 to celebrate Japan Day on Dec. 11.
