DUBAI: The ministry of foreign affairs of Japan held a meeting in the UAE embassy in Tokyo on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the UAE, Bahrain, Oman.

The meeting was attended by Shihab Alfaheem, ambassador of UAE to Japan, who gave a speech about UAE’s efforts and attempts to transition to a green economy and decarbonization.

Japan and the UAE have a long history of friendly ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations as early as the UAE’s independence in 1971.

Both countries rely on mutual trade to sustain stability In certain fields; the UAE exports crude oil and natural gas to Japan and in return Japan provides cars and electronic items; thus, AlFaheem’s stress on the importance of the UAE-Japanese relations and the UAE’s commitment to developing the economic partnership between the two countries.

Japan also highlighted the fact that it will remain a major partner in the economic growth journey of the UAE.
