RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced nine deaths from the coronavirus on Friday. There were also new cases of the disease in Jeddah (444),  Makkah (443), Riyadh (419), Madinah (152), Dammam (148) and 128 in Al-Hafof.

Saudi citizens made up for 41 percent of new cases whilst 59 percent were non-Saudi patients.

The health ministry also announced 2,818 new recoveries, bringing the number of patients who have recovered in the Kingdom so far to 21,869.

More than half a million tests for the virus have been conducted in Saudi Arabia to date, the health ministry said.
