RIYADH: Applications for the 2020 Japanese government MEXT scholarship program is now open and will run until January 16, 2020.

There will be two programs on offer for Saudi nationals which will give them a chance to study at universities in Japan.

The first program is open to undergraduates studying the Japanese language in the Kingdom.

The second is for qualified teachers with more than five years of experience.

Teachers who wish to study the latest educational methods, improve their teaching skills, develop their abilities in educational management and specialize in scientific research work stand a good chance of making the grade.

The MEXT scholarship program aims at giving people a chance to visit Japan, learn their culture and language, and develop their professional skills.

The program is also intended at helping build ties between Japan and the Arab world.

Applications should be submitted, with all required supporting documents, to the Japanese embassy in Riyadh.

Full details of the scholarships, eligibility and the application process can be found on the embassy’s website.
