DUBAI: Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and British racecar driver Lewis Hamilton collaborated to launch the second collection of Hamilton’s clothing brand, +44.

Named “The Vegas Trip,” the collection is inspired by Formula 1’s 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The collection includes 27 pieces inspired by Vegas’s bright lights and aesthetic. Murakami helped design colorful garments that incorporate aspects of both fashion and racing. Hoodies, t-shirts, long sleeves and accessories are all part of the collection.

His signature character, Mr. DOB, is featured in the designs alongside the racer’s initials, “LH.”

Hamilton said that he is a “huge fan of Murakami’s work and technique,” adding that having the opportunity to work with him for a second time “is a dream.”

Murakami took to his Instagram account to describe the “astonishingly neutral mood about him.”

“I saw him as a nugget of love,” he added.

A +44 pop-up shop is selling the collection at the Wynn Las Vegas from Nov. 15-19.
