DUBAI: Studio Ghibli released a new set of free-to-use anime images from the Oscar-winning film The Boy and the Heron, allowing fans to use the images and celebrate the award win.
This is not the first time the studio releases such images, with the first set published in 2020 as a gesture of goodwill during the pandemic. Studio Ghibli continued updating the anime photos to the collection and when The Boy and the Heron premiered in Japan on July 14, new images from the film were added shortly after, in August.
Since the release came before the premiere of the movie globally, the photos were limited in order to avoid spoilers for fans who hadn’t seen the film yet.
The seven new stills all feature the movie’s protagonist, Mahito, in different scenes with other characters.
The images can be downloaded from the official site for use “within the bounds of common sense.”
At Ghibli Park, fans can also get the opportunity to view the Oscar the film won for a limited time.
