Several Japanese Dubai-based restaurants receive Michelin ratings

DUBAI: Several Japanese restaurants in Dubai have received Michelin Guide ratings, with some restaurants retaining their spots, while others are new to the lists.

Starting off with the One Michelin Star rating, Japanese restaurant Sagetsu by Tetsuya is new to the lists. Those that retained their spots include Hōseki and Japanese influenced restaurant Moonrise.

On the Bib Gourmand list, two new restaurants were added including: Konjiki Hototogisu and Reif Kushiyaki (Dubai Hills).

The two eateries that remained on the list for 2024 were Kinoya and REIF Japanese Kushiyaki (Dar Wasl).

Many Japanese diners retained their spots on the Michelin selected list included: 99 Sushi, Akira Back, Clap, Mimi Kakushi, Netsu, Takahisa and Zuma.

The Asian cuisine has been on the rise in the Middle East and specifically in the UAE, with many diners developing a taste for Japan.

On July 4, Dubai’s top restaurants gathered to find out who has been awarded one Michelin Star (high-quality cooking, worth a stop), two Michelin Stars (excellent cooking, worth a detour), three Michelin Stars (exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey) and a Bib Gourmand (places offering great cooking at reasonable prices).
