DUBAI: A community event for passionate pop culture fans titled ‘All-Spark Meet Up’ took place in Dubai on Saturday. The event gathered the hardcore, passionate fans and collectors of all ages to celebrate one full day of fun and adventure to jointly celebrate the upcoming arrival of the latest Transformers movie, “Transformers ONE,” in one venue.

Organized by Barter Swap Trade (BST), Comicave, Hasbro, and Robosen, the event hosted communities who brought in trading cards, toys, manga, and gaming competitions. The event also included Japanese calligraphy and origami sessions.

Cocomo revealed its Transformers-themed biscuits, while Comicave revealed their collectibles lineup.

“Overall, the All-Spark Community Meet-up celebrates the spark and combined passion of all pop culture communities in the UAE. We dedicate the event’s success to all who had attended and will not be possible without its sponsors, exhibitors, and participants, along with its key partners Comicave, Hasbro, and Robozen,” Ian Eleria from Comicave told Arab News Japan.

Japan in Arabia, a UAE-based community that promotes Japanese culture and arranged the Japanese calligraphy and origami activities at the event, told Arab News Japan that the event was fantastic and they are grateful for the amazing support from the Comicave team.

“We were happy to see our “Japan in Arabia x Al Dhalia Kimono” booth at the event,” Japan in Arabia founder Jason Ishida told Arab News Japan. “The community event was bustling with excited guests seeking to learn more about Japanese culture, featuring activities like writing names in Japanese, origami demonstrations, and traditional clothing displays, including Yukata and Kimono from Al Dhalia Kimono.”

“Participants enjoyed learning to write their name in Japanese, folding origami, and connecting with traditional Japanese fashion. The event had a steady flow of guests and we were especially impressed with the cosplay competition,” he added.
