Paramount Pictures officially announced “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” the sequel to Sega’s famous blue mascot movie that was released in early 2020. The upcoming film will bring back Jeff Fowler as director of the movie as well Pat Casey and Josh Miller as returning scriptwriters.
The studio announced previously that it is producing a sequel to last year’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie following its success & grossing over $319 million dollars worldwide to become one of the biggest movie releases in 2020.

The first movie starred Jim Carrey (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask & Dumb and Dumber) as Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden (Scott Summers / Cyclops in X-Men movies) as Thomas Michael “Tom” Wachowski & Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski while Ben Schwartz (DuckTales 2017 & Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ) voiced Sonic the Hedgehog.
“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will launch in theaters on April 8, 2022 in the US. Filming will begin next month.
