DUBAI: The Japanese animated children’s fantasy movie ’Poupelle of Chimney Town’ is now showing around cinemas in the MENA region in both Japanese and Arabic dubbed versions.

The 2020 Japanese animated children’s fantasy movie was animated by Studio 4°C, directed by Yusuke Hirota, featuring character designs by Atsuko Fukushima.

A representative of DarkWingz Productions the Middle East release of the movie was in partnership with Empire Entertainment.

“The Arabic version of the movie features some famous voice actors for the Arabic audience such as: Marwan Farhat (who was also Kogoro Mori in Arabic version of Detective Conan) & Nassar Al Nassar (who was also Aws in “The Journey” Saudi/ Japanese animated feature) along with other talented voice cast who are looking forward to see their performance on the big screen,” he said.

The representative explained that ’Poupelle of Chimney Town’ is the third movie of DarkWingz Productions to be released in an Arabic dub at the cinemas in the Middle East. The first release was ‘Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms’ in 2018 & ‘Promare’ in 2020.

The film premiered in Japan on Dec. 25, 2020 and was initially set to premier worldwide in 2021, ultimately being released in the United States on Dec. 30 last year.
