DUBAI: Japanese anime production company Aniplex released a new trailer for the third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, which will focus on Swordsmith Village Arc (Katanakaji no Sato-Hen) of the series’ manga.

Haruo Sotozaki is returning to direct the third season, and Akira Matsushima is again designing the characters. The cast from the first and second television anime season is also returning, including Kengo Kawanishi as Muichiro Tokito “Mist Hashira” and Kana Hanazawa as Mitsuri Kanroji “Love Hashira.”

The third season follows the events of the “Entertainment District Arc” from December 2021, which is a direct sequel for the “Mugen Train Arc” of the second season a Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train has surpassed Hayao Miyazaki’s 2002 Spirited Away as the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan as well the second highest-earning anime film of all time worldwide. The movie has sold over 27 million tickets with over 351 million US dollars as of this month.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ manga launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016. The manga ended in May 2020 and has managed to reach more than 150 million copies (including digital copies).
