TOKYO: Nissan Motor Co. said Monday it will suspend vehicle production at its plant in St. Petersburg, Russia, soon as it faces supply constraints due to the conflict in Ukraine.
The Japanese automaker built about 45,000 vehicles in Russia last year. It has already suspended exports of vehicles to Russia.
Among other Japanese automakers, Toyota Motor Corp. has idled its St. Petersburg plant. Mazda Motor Corp. has said it would stop delivering auto parts to a joint venture plant in Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East.
