Three Japanese cities have made it to Skycanner’s list of trending cities to visit in 2024. The list ranks Sapporo as fifth, Osaka as sixth and Tokyo as tenth.

Flight comparison website Skyscanner compiled statistics from a study of 2,000 UK participants and data from millions of flights and hotel searches.

Sapporo ranked the highest out of the three cities in Japan and is praised for its seafood, its annual snow festival and proximity to some of the best ski resorts.

Osaka is also popular for its street food, shopping and art galleries. The Japanese city will be hosting the upcoming World Expo in 2025, where construction is in progress, and a mascot has been announced.

Tokyo, the country’s capital, is already very widely popular among tourists and offers a variety of restaurants, shopping areas and colorful neon lights.
