New York: Tesla Inc. said Tuesday that its Superchargers for electric vehicles will be available free of charge in central Japan’s Hokuriku region for a week starting Wednesday to help people affected by a powerful earthquake there on New Year’s Day.
The free charging services cover Superchargers in Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa and Fukui prefectures, the U.S. EV maker said. Tesla runs a charging station with four Superchargers in each of the four prefectures.
Tesla has 103 charging stations with Superchargers across Japan, according to the company.
