DUBAI: Japan’s Consul-General in Dubai IMANISHI Jun met the Japan national football team for women with intellectual disabilities, their unified partners, their counterparts from the UAE side and the Special Olympics UAE fox oaks at his residence.

The gathering, which is the first of its kind organized by the Japanese Consulate, was gathering was arranged in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and Japan Football Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability (JFFID).

Imanishi told his guests that it was people that brought different cultures together and formed closer relations between countries, rather than diplomats and private sectors.

He also expressed his joy at witnessing a “beautiful gathering of football players, regardless of religion, gender and disability, who literally bridge the two countries.”
