The ‘Thousand-Year Blood War’ arc adaptation for ‘Bleach’ Anime

The final arc of the Bleach manga was speculated to receive an anime adaptation in celebration of the franchise’s twentieth anniversary.

The adaption was set to take place during the AnimeJapan 2020 conventioset for March 23, prior to the cancellation of the event due to concerns over COVID-19.

The magazine Shonen Jump and the Japanese Publishing company Shueisha announced that the event will take place as a live stream broadcast via YouTube on March 21.

Bleach initially appeared in Shonen Jump inAugust 2001to August 2016. The chronicle follows the adventures of a teenager called Ichigo Kurosaki who inherits his parents’ destiny after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper.

The final arc to take place in Bleach magna, named the “Thousand-Year Blood War” ended in 2012 without receiving an adaptation within the anime series. Consequently, fans formed numerous online petitions requesting the final final arc of the manga animated.
