ABU DHABI: Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), alongside UAE Space Agency, Japan Cabinet Office, Japan Ministry of Economy and Industry (METI), and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), organized a space workshop on Dec. 12 in Abu Dhabi titled ‘UAE-Japan Space Sector Joint Workshop.’

The workshop hosted 50 organizations from the UAE, including the UAE Space Agency, Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) and UAE space-related startup companies. It also hosted 30 Japanese companies, such as ispace, ArkEdgeSpace, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and Toyota.

The sessions included discussions related to four themes: ‘Access to Space and Sustainability,’ ‘Earth Observation and Remote Sensing,’ ‘Space Exploration,’ and ‘Telecommunication / Position, Navigation, and Timing’. They served as a great opportunity for Japanese companies to introduce their goals in the UAE.

The event emphasizes the commitment between the two countries to enhance their relations in the field of space exploration.
