US tech giant Apple is venturing into the hospitality sector by building a hotel as part of its new second campus in Northwest Austin.
Apple’s original plans for the project did not include a hotel, but it was mentioned on the revised plan of the campus, according to Culture Map Austin.
The city of Austin approved the revised plans recently on April 29. The hotel is a 192-room, six-story building spanning across 75,500 square-feet land.
There is not particular hotel brand attached to the building, and it will be Apple’s very first hotel, as other campuses belonging to the tech organization do not include such an amenity.
The new campus will be located in Austin, Texas and is set to open in 2022. The entire plot will be housing 5,000 employees, with accommodation set to fit about 15,000 people.
Two-million square feet of the campus will solely be dedicated to office spaces.
