Nintendo has recently teamed up with footwear company PUMA to release new shoes in celebration of Super Mario’s 35th anniversary.
Each shoe in the collections draws inspiration from the franchise and is designed with details centered around the animation.
The first show, called the Future Rider, is directly inspired by 1996’s Super Mario 64. The footwear is a combination of white and tan embellished with Mario’s signature blue and red details. The midsole is patterned with a brick print.
The other pair of shoes, called the Clyde, salutes Super Mario Sunshine from 2002. They are inspired by the tropical nature theme of the game, featuring tan and red upper with a water print.
The third pair, the RS-Fast, is an ode to Nintendo Wii’s Super Marion Galaxy from 2007. It is a running style sneaker mixing black, white, purple and silver with a star print.
The new collection will be released via PUMA’s website and other retailers from Nov. 27. The shoes will vary in price, depending on the shoe style, ranging from ¥ 9,500 Japanese yen ($90 USD) to ¥ 12,000 Japanese yen ($120 USD)
