DUBAI: SŌ Tea Café is a stylish Tea lounge and restaurant in Dubai that fuses Japanese and Emirati flavors and ingredients for exquisite dishes, served along with a pot of tea – making this a very special and unique offering in the UAE.

SŌ Tea Café’s operations manager Jobin George spoke to Arab News Japan about how the café was established. He said that the café first opened its doors in February 2019.

“We offer a large variety of beverages, including a wonderful selection of curated loose tea menu, as well as a variety of food options for all times of the day,” he added.

Even though the café had to go through the challenges of COVID-19 as many other businesses around the world did, SŌ Tea was able to overcome those issues.

“We have received very positive reviews about SŌ Tea Café, it has been praised for its calming and relaxing atmosphere and ambience, as well as our selection and variety,” George said.

“Another positive feedback we received is for our desserts. Our selection of desserts caters to all ages and tastes. From unique presentations (Kinoko Cheesecake) to unique fusion of flavours (Busque Cheesecake with Muhallabiya Sauce), our selection of desserts captivates our guests and keeps them always coming back,” he added.

George told Arab News Japan that the café is different from other Japanese restaurants in the way the cuisine is presented and its style.

“SŌ Tea Café’s concept infuses Japanese and Emirati flavors and ingredients for exquisite dishes. The way the flavors and ingredients are included in the menu provides a different experience in tasting the flavors that make up the Japanese flavor palate,” he explained.

“Another distinguishing feature is our tea menu, which has selections from different high producing tea countries in the world, ranging from far east China – Japan to the African continent to Latin America. Each tea category offers multiple options from pure teas to flavored teas,” George said.

SŌ Tea Café plans to open a second branch in the UAE in December of this year. Customers can also enjoy tea from the comfort of their homes by ordering teas online. Gift boxes are also available at the café.
