Engineer Marwan Abdulrahman Al-Olayan, CEO of (JCSA) and secretary-general of the Saudi Equestrian Commission, received  in The Saudi Jockey Club a certificate and a Guinness World Record award from Ahmed Bucheeri an official Guinness World Records adjudicator.

Bucheeri said:  “On behalf of Guinness World Records, it gives me great pleasure to announce the new Guinness World Record title holder for The Saudi cup 2022.” He added that the largest prize fund for a single horse race is $20 million (£15.22 million), for the Saudi Cup, held at King Abdulaziz Racetrack, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 26 February 2022. They are officially amazing,” he said.

It is an existing world record title set by Guinness World Records and as with all record titles, there is an amount to be broken. The previous record holder achieved this at $10 million and was the Dubai World Cup held at the Meydan Race Course in Dubai, on March 2010.

For his part, Engineer Al-Olayan said, “We are happy with this achievement, which counts for the Saudi equestrian, and I would like to stress that the successive achievements of the club would not have been possible without the constant support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.

Al-Olayan added: “I would like also to extend my thanks to HRH Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al Faisal, Chairman of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia for his constant guidance to me and my colleagues in the club, and I also congratulate all my colleagues in the club for their great efforts in achieving all the achievements of the club.”
