Tourists from home and aboard also visit the world’s largest wholesale food and seafood market, which is now at its new location in Tokyo.

Popular items at the market include fresh fish such as sockeye salmon, tuna, octopus, crabs, and salmon roes.
Foodstuff for the New Year dishes include boiled fish pastes and food simmered in soy sauce.
Japanese people also visit shrines and temples to pray for happiness and safety throughout the year.
