Khetat Mazinger, a new Arabic movie by the Egyptian director Rami Rizkallah that is based on the popularity of the Japanese super robot manga series “Mazinger Z” in the Middle East, premiered in late August at Muvi Cinemas in both Riyadh BLVD and Mall of Arabia, Saudi Arabia.

The premiere was attended by the stars of movie and filled with excited fans ready to see the movie play on the big screen.

The actors Yasmeen Raess, Hamdy El Marghany, Mahmoud Hafez, Bayoumi Fouad, Isamael Farghali, Ous Ous, Sama Ibrahim, Mohamad Radwan, Houssam Dagher, Mahmoud Hilal, Taim Ismael, Fares Fayad, amongst others.

The plot of the movie takes place in a poor neighbourhood where a young man going through financial issues attempts to  get married from his fiancée. The two came up with a big plan to kidnap a boy from a wealthy family and demand ransom, then gathered a group of friends to help in executing the plan. However, they accidentally kidnap the neighbor’s son, whose father is the director of security forces. The events in the movie occur in the Mazinger and Aphrodite way, with the appearance of many famous cartoon characters such as Super Mario, Spider-Man and others, in a social comic framework that is not without excitement and suspense.

The movie has grossed over 1.382 million Egyptian pound (71724$ dollars) since its release in late August at Egyptian theaters.

Mazinger Z was created by legendary manga author Go Nagai and the anime series was produced by Toei Animation, which aired on Fuji TV on Fuji TV from December 1972 to September 1974. Mazinger Z has spawned several sequels and spin-off series, among them being Great Mazinger, UFO Robot Grendizer and Mazinkaiser.

Mazinger Z: Infinity, a theatrical film sequel, taking place 10 years after the Great Mazinger series, was animated by Toei Animation and released in theaters on January 13, 2018.
