DUBAI: South Korean National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made headlines, after Trudeau used “manner-legs” to pose with the Korean politician.

Korean media has praised the prime minister’s wide-stance pose, calling it a “sign of respect.”

Ahead of the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Trudeau and a delegation of Canadian ministers visited South Korea, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

As the two leaders posed for this photo-op, Kim raised himself on his tiptoes, joking about the height difference. This then led to Trudeau’s now viral “manner legs” pose, in which he spread out his legs to put himself on the same level.

The move is known in South Korea and is meant to level the height between two people. Korean media outlet Chosun said the scene was “heartwarming,” while another media outlet YTN said it displayed a “caring mindset.”
