DUBAI: Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) has finally commenced its 11th Pokémon-themed Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner inaugural flight to Bangkok on June 4. 

The Pikachu Jet NH launched three months ago at Tokyo Haneda International Airport. Several of the airline’s cabin crew and executives were at the reveal, along with Pikachu. 

The livery for the themed jet features Legendary Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza, which appears to ‘fly’ across the entire widebody fuselage to create a unique visual. Characters like Charizard, Latios and Latias, Rowlet, Vivillion, Pikachu, and other air-type Pokémon are also all on display.

The Pikachu Jet NH was especially designed for ANA by the Pokémon Company, and signifies “shining rays of hope and countless opportunities within an interconnected world full of fun and wonder.”

On June 4, the flight, known as NH 847, featured Pikachu in attendance during the boarding process of the first flight.

Passengers were also welcomed with special boarding music at the gate and received commemorative gifts. Onboard, the aircraft’s cabin crew were dressed up in Pokémon-themed uniforms.

The six-hour flight departed from Tokyo Haneda International Airport at approximately 11:36 AM and touched down at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at about 3:21 PM.

Later on in the same day, the Pikachu Jet NH operated flight NH 850, which took off from Bagkok back home. On June 5, the special aircraft made its debut at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
