TOKYO: The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan, in line with an announcement by the Arab League, on Thursday announced three days of mourning for those killed in Gaza, with several Embassies of Arab countries lowering flags at half-mast.

The Arab League had announced three days of mourning to express its profound grief and sorrow for the hundreds of innocent Palestinian civilians killed and wounded in the devastating massacre perpetrated by Israel at the Baptist Hospital in the Occupied Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

During these three days of mourning, the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan is calling upon all organizations, communities and individuals in Japan and worldwide to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, and show their sorrow and voice their condemnation at this heinous crime.

The Council reiterates the call for the immediate ceasefire and stop to the barbaric attacks on Gaza, the provision of much-needed humanitarian relief, and the immediate stop of the forced displacement of Palestinians, which is an egregious violation of International Law,” the Council’s statement saidMoreover, the Council urges and calls on the international community to urge and commit Israel to cease all illegal practices and violations and to abide by the International Law, International Humanitarian Law, and the Geneva Conventions and Protocols.

“As we stand united in solidarity with the Palestinian people, we extend our deep condolences for the loss of all the Palestinians killed in the ongoing aggression against Gaza,” the Council said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the wounded and to the families of the victims who are enduring unimaginable suffering.”
