TOKYO: Japanese activists condemned Israeli threats to use nuclear bombs against Gaza and called for an end to the war.

During an anti-bombing demonstration in the Shinjuku district in Tokyo, on Tuesday, protestors expressed dismay with Israeli Minister of Heritage Amichay Eliyahu who has declared a wish to drop an atomic bomb on the Gaza Strip.

A medical professional participating in the protest said that Israel has already dropped the equivalent of several atomic bombs on the Gaza Strip adding that conventional bombings have already left 10,000 dead with many still under rubble. She condemned Israel for developing nuclear weapons, and strongly insisted on an immediate ceasefire.

A young student said he has been active in groups that wanted to ensure atomic bombings would never again take place. He added that he believes G7 is behind the military escalation which has allowed an Israeli minister to declare a potential atomic bombing of Gaza.

The demonstrators criticized the “humanitarian pause” as a strategy to stop for a short period before starting again.
