Japan supports solar power system, water pump installation in South Lebanon

DUBAI: Japan signed a grant contract on Wednesday to provide installations for a solar power system and a water pump for Ain El Delb municipality in South Lebanon, which has been facing a severe shortage of public water supply. 

The grant, which was signed by Ambassador MAGOSHI Masayuki in the presence of the Mayor of Ain El Delb municipality, Dany Jabbour, will extend to Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria (ICU). 

Japan’s assistance to Ain El Delb municipality will provide approximately 2,400 residents with the needed water supply at an affordable cost.

During the signing ceremony, MAGOSHI shared that Japan is keen on supporting the vulnerable communities in Lebanon, while the ICU thanked the Japanese government for their support and assistance.
