DUBAI: Japan’s Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio on Monday expressed his condolences to Oman’s Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and the UAE’s President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan after damage was caused to the two Gulf countries by the heavy rain and floods on April 14-17.
He also addressed the message to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of Presidential Court.
In Kishida’s message to the UAE, he said: “On behalf of the Government and people of Japan, I would like to express my sincere condolences to Your Highness, the Government and people of the United Arab Emirates for the immense damage, caused by the floods that have recently occurred in your country, including the loss of lives.”
Kishida said in a message addressed to the Omani Sultan: “On behalf of the Government and people of Japan, I would like to express my sincere condolences to Your Majesty, the Government and people of the Sultanate of Oman for the immense damage and number of casualties that were caused by the floods that have recently occurred in your country.
He added that he hoped for the quick recovery of those who were affected by the floods and the prompt reconstruction of the affected areas.
The flooding killed 19 people in Oman and also affected neighboring country, the UAE, disrupting the Dubai airport.
