DUBAI: Japan’s Special Envoy for Middle East Peace UEMURA Tsukasa will attend Jordan’s international conference under the name ‘Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza.’

According to Japan’s foreign ministry, the Japanese government has been making various diplomatic efforts to calm down the situation in Israel and Palestine as well as improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

As part of these efforts, the government will dispatch Uemura to the conference on June 11 in order to explain Japan’s efforts and exchange views on the situation with other participants.

The conference comes as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to visit Egypt and Israel in a bid to push forward ceasefire efforts.
