Japanese Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko held a meeting on Friday with her Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty during his visit to Japan, where they agreed to further develop their cooperation in various fields.
Both ministers reviewed Africa and the Middle East’s industrial, scientific, and technological development progress through the Japan-Egypt partnership, which marked its 70th anniversary this year.
Kamikawa shared that she supports Egypt’s efforts regarding the ongoing situation in Gaza, including the need to encourage all relevant parties to exercise maximum self-restraint and to commit to negotiations on the hostage release and ceasefire.
The two ministers also discussed ways to cooperate in international areas, including the situation in the Middle East and North Korea.
Abdelatty is currently visiting Japan to attend the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) ministerial meeting.
